I hate life,
Life hates me,
Let’s just go and smoke some weed,
With a big rolled blunt,
And a lighter for you and me,
Let’s get high and maybe drunk too
I love it and it’s so much fun. But I sacrificed so much to be part of the ensemble. School, family, friend, boyfriend, and free time. I had to miss my family trip to Lake Tahoe. I miss out on friends’ birthday parties. I can’t take a nap without worrying about being late to rehearsal. I don’t get to go to Reno with my best friends. It takes away hours and hours of homework time. And I haven’t been on a cheap date with my boyfriend in forever. It causes so much stress and takes up so much time, but it’s an amazing experience for me. At the end of championships and the season, all the sacrifices better have been worth it..
I can honestly say, that I’m starting to love it. I admit, a few months ago, I hated it. I dreaded showing up to rehearsals twice a week and once a month on Saturdays for 8 hours. I wanted to quit. But lately, everything has been better. When the season first started back in September or October, I didn’t know a thing about music. And now, I can honestly say that I’ve learned so much in the past few months. I didnt know how to read music, but im better at it now. No, I’m not a pro, but I’m so proud as to how far I’ve come. Not only have I learned so much about music, but I’ve met new, wonderful people. The pit members are like my family. And the battery are the ones I still have yet to get close to. I’ve gotten so much closer to 2 of the staff members. I even stay up on Facebook IM to chat with one. I actually love going to rehearsals now. Once I get the hang of the new piece we get assigned, it becomes so fun to play. And when I learn a new part for the show, I feel accomplished. I’m getting so anxious for competitions and everything that’s coming up in the next 2 months.
